Over the past 15 years, Sam Treadway has bartended all over the country—from Boston to Seattle, from Minnesota to Hawaii, and more. He's also been successful at cocktail competitions nationally and internationally. Currently, he owns backbar, a hard-to-find craft cocktail bar in Somerville, MA. Sam lives near said bar with his cat, Muffuletta.

Behind the Batida Rosa


Jacyara de Oliveira has been involved in Chicago's beverage industry for the last seven years, first as a barback and server at the esteemed Drawing Room (where she learned from the best in the business), then as a bartender at various venues throughout the city. She was on the opening teams at Nico Osteria and Sportsman's Club, where she was tapped to manage the bar and lead additional programming over the next two years. Jacyara's won several industry awards, including the Jean Banchet Award for Best Mixologist (2016) and Speed Rack Chicago (2015), and she was part of the StarChef Rising Stars class of 2015. Additionally, she was recognized as one of Food & Wine's “Rising Stars” and one of the “Women to Watch” in the bar world.

Behind the Banana Banjo


Jen Akin is the GM, rum curator, and in-house mint whisperer at Rumba in Seattle, WA. She grew up in Lawrence, KS, where she learned how to drive stick shift on a John Deere tractor.
