Family owned since 1952, the Siete Leguas distillery is situated in Atotonilco, Los Altos. They apply the old traditional process of making tequila in two factories: one uses the
(a stone wheel pulled by mules) to crush the cooked agave, while the other one utilizes the
(mechanical crusher). The two juices are then blended together into a complex and delicious blanco. This process is performed each day with the owner present in order to assure the highest quality.
Bonus fact: Siete Leguas is named after Pancho Villa’s famous horse
Another bonus fact: This distillery produced the Original Patron tequila from 1990 to 2002.
