SUBSCRIBE BY APRIL 30TH TO GET THE AGAVE BLANCO BOX!
So that you can start mixing your cocktails as soon as your box arrives, why not go get your bottle of tequila blanco now? Each of this month's featured experts has a recommendation for you!
Any of them will work well for all three recipes found in this box,
depending on your preference:
Lana Gallani recommends Cabeza, a tequila made in the highlands of Tequila with a long, cool fermentation, using double copper pot distillation. It is proofed a little higher than standard (43% instead of the standard 40%), which means a delicious spirit with bright fruity notes and a rich body that belies its extra kick. It’s remarkably easy-drinking on its own and flexible in cocktails, with a soft, almost nutty quality that adds a very welcome layer of complexity. In 2017, Cabeza recieved a score of 97 at the Ultimate Beverage Challenge, along with the Chairman's Trophy.
Janice Balion recommends Fortaleza Blanco. On its own, Fortaleza is full of character, with hints of olive and a peppery finish, and this provides an excellent base for incorporating into cocktails. Its complexity makes it an exciting choice for making drinks with, bu it's also one of Janice's favorites to imbibe on its own. Fortaleza Blanco is commonly among the top ten rated tequilas in the world.
Amanda Elder recommends Siete Leguas Blanco, whose beautifully balanced expressions of earthiness and vegetation, fruit and spice, allow you to tease out whatever characteristics of good agave you want most to celebrate in any given cocktail. This is truly a blanco that helps tequila-based cocktails do what they do best—help people fall in love with agave. In 2016, Siete Leguas Blanco recieved a score of 97 at the Ultimate Beverage Challenge, as well as the Chairman's Trophy and the Tried & True Award.
