September Box: Midnight Bodega Run

September's box is here. It's a late one.

Midnight Bodega Run is inspired by that late-night stop we all made at some point, walking in for one thing and leaving with everything you didn't know you needed. Created with Gabe Orta, co-founder of the award-winning Broken Shaker, this limited-edition kit is built around pisco and packed with the flavors that lived in that fridge and on that shelf. Grape soda, instant ramen, lychee soda, grown up and poured into a glass.

What's Inside the September Cocktail Box

This month's cocktail subscription box includes everything you need to make three original pisco cocktails at home. Expect Concord grape, hibiscus, toasted rice, kombu, hojicha, shiitake ginger, lychee, lemongrass, and the kind of late-night depth that only pisco can anchor. Every recipe is designed to take a familiar craving somewhere it's never been.

This month's box is all about pisco, a South American brandy distilled from grapes, not grain or sugarcane. Two countries make it, Chile and Peru, and they make it very differently. Peruvian pisco can only be distilled once, cannot be aged, and no water can be added after distillation, which is what gives it that intense, aromatic, grape-forward character. Chilean pisco allows multiple distillations, can blend grape varietals, and gives producers more flexibility. This month we're recommending Pisco Control, a Chilean pisco, which is triple distilled to achieve that crystal clear, clean, and smooth finish. If you're an N/A drinker, we recommend a double strength white tea.

Just add pisco and make it a late one.

The Cocktails

Purple Stuff

A love letter to grape soda and frozen treats. Pisco meets Concord grape and hibiscus cordial, deep and a little tart, the kind of purple that stains your tongue in the best way. Pink peppercorn and lavender bitters keep the sweetness honest, sparkling grapefruit soda lifts the whole thing.

Cup of Noodles Martini

That 2am cup of instant ramen that brings you back to life, reimagined as a martini. Toasted rice and kombu syrup brings a savory richness that spirits rarely get to explore. Chilled hojicha tea adds a quiet, tannic backbone. Shiitake ginger tincture and citrus bitters round it out with warmth and a little heat. Garnish with a manicured nori sheet, this one smells like comfort and drinks like something you didn't know a cocktail could be.

Lychee Pisco Fizz

Lychee and lemongrass syrup bring the floral sweetness, lemon keeps it sharp, and milkis adds that soda shop tang that takes you straight back. Egg white gets whipped into a foam that rises above the glass like a meringue cap, delicate and dramatic in equal measure. A dash of orange flower water ties the whole thing together. It takes patience to build. It takes none at all to fall for.
